DIY Copper Wedding Signs

April 24, 2019

I had fun making DIY signs for a recent wedding in Portland. The bride and groom have a laid-back, hip Portland style and I wanted something to match that aesthetic. These signs were super easy and it was great to be able to customize the chalkboard signs with chalk.

Here are the supplies I used from JOANN's. I unfortunately didn't take too many more photos of the process, but hopefully the list of supplies is helpful in recreating this look.

- Metal hoops (in copper color. I used 18 in and 12 in sizes)

- Leather cord (I used light brown)

- Welcome sign (I found this one on clearance at Joann's)

- Thin wood pieces (lots of cheap options for this at Joann's based on the shape and size you like)

- Chalkboard paint (to paint the wood pieces)

- Copper wire to attached the fresh Eucalyptus and flowers

After I painted the wood pieces, I glued them onto the signs with a glue gun. Then I tied the leather cords onto the top. I attached some fresh cut Eucalyptus leaves and flowers onto the signs day of the wedding. Then I wrote the signs in with chalk.
