Cutest Modern Pumpkins
I am loving these new pumpkins and how bright and fun they are. I bought a variety of tiny pumpkins from Safeway and painted them using neon acrylic paints + different amounts of white mixed in. I would recommend using white pumpkins as they are the smoothest and are easiest to paint with the lighter colors (so that you don't have to do 2 layers). The orange pumpkins also worked well for the orange colors, but you can really use any pumpkin for any color! I even used some of

Glitter Handprint & Footprint Halloween Art
Yes! Halloween is finally close and I'm so excited for all of the new themed projects we can make now. This is a super cute and simple handrint and footprint art that anyone can make. We used a sparkly black paper from Michael's for this project, but you can use a plain piece of construction paper as well of course. We brushed on Elmer's glue onto Lena's feet and hands and then stamped them onto the paper. This is always a fun part as it involves lots of tickly laughter. Then

DIY Paw Patrol Family Costume
It's one of our favorite times of the year when we get to do a full DIY costume job and dress up as our favorite characters. This year Lena wanted to be Paw Patrol of course and I think it turned out pretty awesome. Our 3 costumes were fairly easy to make with a little forward planning. 1. Marshall My wonderful fashion designed sister made the fleece jumpsuit and ears. I ordered a red puffy vest from Old Navy. I then cut out the badges out of felt and hot glue-gunned them tog

Thomas and Percy DIY Halloween Costumes
Lena has been asking to be Thomas for the past year so I had to make her a proper engine costume. Enzo had to of course be the best friend, Percy. How to: 1. You will need 2 medium sized boxes from the post office and masking tape. 2. Cut the boxes open on one side and tape them together in a rectangle shape. 3. Cut the front piece of the train lower and then use the extra pieces to create a roof and fill in the extra space. I also used a clothes hanger on the inside to reinf

Pumpkin Carving with a Drill
This pumpkin idea looks really nice and is much easier and quicker to make than regular carving. They look really fun and bright at night too…and are kind of unique! How-To: 1. Cut a nice wide top to the pumpkin so that you can reach in easily. I did angled squares so that the tops don’t fall in. 2. Remove the insides well. A large flat ice cream scoop spoon worked really well. 3. Think of the type of design you want on the pumpkin. I drew out the first design, but thought it
